CEASING TRADING

Torran Bay Hostel will be ceasing trading due to the ill health of the owner Mrs Sheila Brolly. Any bookings made will be cancelled and any payments made in advance will be refunded asap.

Sheila will be retiring and thanks everyone who supported the hostel by visiting and staying. We will update you all with regards to any potential new owners.

All Boats moored or stored at Torran Bay Hostel will need to be uplifted and we will be making contact with those affected in due course.

Torran Bay Hostel is a tranquil escape situated on the banks of Loch Awe, surrounded by the natural scenery and wildlife of Argyll.

The Hostel is owned by the Brolly family and was built on the family farm, Torran Farm.  Torran Farm is 1600 acres of mainly rugged hill land which hill walkers will enjoy.  Whether you climb to the top of the hills or just wish to walk on the banks of Loch Awe the scenery will take your breath away.

Please visit our facebook page for more photos of the scenery, wildlife, events held at the hostel and feedback from guests.

Fishing

Torran Bay is liked by many anglers and they come in their droves to catch "the one that got away on their last visit".  It was the anglers, due to their commitment to their sport in all weather, that gave the Brollys the idea of opening the hostel.

All anglers happily abide by our catch and release policy.

A couple of pictures below of the "one the didn't get away" . The first picture is of a 36lb pike, hence having to lift it over his shoulder for a picture!

Other Activities

Torran Bay Hostel has hosted the wedding of a local couple, a classic cars event, rambling clubs,  swimming clubs, canoeing/kayak clubs and many more.

We feel Torran Bay and the surrounding area lends itself to

  • artists for wildlife and landscape paintings,

  • photographers and camera clubs

  • Dog walking/training groups

  • Camping groups (Scouts/Brownies or away days)

Whatever your passion or motivation that leads you to Torran Bay we will look after you and accommodates you additional needs where possible in one of our 16 en-suite rooms that can accommodate up to 40 guests (pets are welcome too!) or should you prefer camping on Torran Farm.
